This is a solid app. The map is great and easy to zoom in and out. The routes and estimated travel times are accurate. I only gave it 4 stars because I really wish you could check the train schedules from within the app so I could tell what time trains will arrive/depart at different stations. I can see this in Google maps but its a pain switching between them.
Great app if you live in NY or are a tourist. I live in NY but dont take trains often & I love this app as very easy to use.
Love it! Works! Easy! Easy!! I never buy apps but did for this as I know I want the extra visual space FOREVER! Yes, no arrival times, but chill, youll arrive when everybody else does!
Often opens with a mandatory 5-10 second full screen ad. This has often been the difference between me deciding to hop on that train or not. Do not like.
Lived in NY my whole life and this app is all you need. If you cant figure it on this app you should just take Uber
Used to love this app, but now you get a video ad anytime you open it. If youre like me, you sometimes need to immediately check your route while on the platform to decide which train to take. To need to wait through a video every time is annoying. Shame, because I really liked this app. Would definitely pay for an ad-free version.
Reliable, smooth, intuitive. Only problem is the ads. They dont load and can tie-up valuable search time. Id pay to not have the ads.
Time estimate is very useful
This app is great. Love that it works without wifi or service. Only issue: you cant type in an intersection or address to plan your route. This tends to be an issue when youre routing to Brooklyn or Queens.
I just moved to NYC from a place where public transportation isnt a thing. This app has saved my life on many occasions. The best feature is definitely the route planning! Everything is very straightforward and easy to follow.
I agree with another viewer that the ads can be annoying when you are trying to make a quick decision about which train to take. I also wish they would include the Roosevelt Island tram as a travel option.
Doesnt recognise any of the points of interest so is useless for planning a route unless you already know the nearby stations. If I want a basic useless map then I will use a paper one and not waste space and data on this
Offline (and on) availability makes this worth it. Works smoothly.
The service info function doesnt work, just a black screen that doesnt update when refreshed.
Its ok but the timing is a little off.
For one who visits New York infrequently, this helps in trip planning & does a good job keeping information current
This app is garbage just like the MTA. It doesnt update the information for service changes until the time the service changes. Now what sense does that make? I resent the MTA and this app earns the same angry feelings.
This app is of no help if you dont already know exactly what stations you are going to start and stop at. Whats the point if all you have is an address and need to understand what train to take? It also doesnt tell you you need to get off and transfer to another train!! Terribly pointless app.
